Shy Glizzy Talent Bio:
Marquis Amonte King, better known by his stage name, Shy Glizzy, is a hip hop artist that originated in Washington, D.C. He was born December 12th 1992 and began rapping at a very young age. Shy released his first mixtape “Law” in 2012 which gained acknowledgement from Complex as one of the “10 New DMV Rappers to Watch Out For”. With help from Trinidad James on the track “Pilot”, he released his second mixtape “Fxuk Rap”. The end of 2012 saw the release of his third mixtape, “Law 2” which served as a follow-up to the first mixtape and included artists such as Migos, Yo Gotti, Kevin Gates, Starlito, and Ant Glizzy. Many producers also helped with the project, including Karltin Bankz, Izze the Producer, Rick Flare, Metro Boomin, Big K, YB, Beezy, Rico Beats, Lil Lody, and LG the Producer. The rapper put in a lot of work for this mixtape and so did the others involved with the project; the work put in showed Shy’s dedication to his music and gained him attention. His next project was a mixtape titled “Young Jefe” and was released in early 2014 and hosted by DJ Bigga Rankin. This project featured production from Zaytoven, Cardo, and Roger Beat. This mixtape produced the hit single “Awwsome” and proved to be the biggest song of his career to date. A remix was created with A$AP Rocky and 2 Chainz which got nearly a million streams off of Soundcloud in its first week of release. “Medelin” was also a song on the mixtape that features Young Scooter, Young Thug, PeeWee Longway, Zed Zilla, Gudda Gudda, and Plies. Shy Glizzy is most well-known for the crew he created called Glizzy Gang, which was created during his early years in Washington, D.C. The current members of the Glizzy Gang include: Shy Glizzy and nine other members who write music together and separately which a wide span of fans and even more support from the music industry’s top artists and producers. At the end of 2014, Shy put out yet another mixtape titled “Law 3” with the help of another producer, DJ Drama.
